This poster was deeply inspired by the line “We live to survive our paradoxes.” The central concept is represented through the negative space created by the two opposing faces, generating a series of impossible visual spaces and shifting perceptions. The composition plays with duality, contradiction, and visual ambiguity, reflecting the paradoxical nature suggested in the song. Other visual details work as small easter eggs taken directly from the song’s imagery. The hidden faces behind the frame reference the lyric “whispers in the closets”. The broken classical column symbolizes the tension between tradition and rupture — a nod to the idea that “the blues are still required,” where established forms and cultural structures remain present, even as the band pushes against them and attempts to break free from convention. On a more superficial visual level, the architectural framing and ornamental structure reference Vienna’s Secessionist movement, combining geometric rhythm, decorative symbolism, and psychedelic influences to create a contemporary reinterpretation of the style.

Artist Bio
El Señor Gómez is Iván Gómez, a father, husband, and graphic designer from Cantabria, in the north of Spain, now based in Barcelona, with almost 20 years of experience in branding, music artwork, poster design, and illustration. I’m passionate about anything involving printed letters, so my work is strongly influenced by typography, retro visual culture, and graphic experimentation.
